Serif fonts are one of the most popular and widely used typefaces in typography. The term “serif” refers to the small lines or flourishes at the end of each character, which give the font a traditional and classic appearance. Serif fonts have been in use for hundreds of years and are still widely used today in a variety of applications, including books, newspapers, and magazines.
Serif fonts are generally classified into two categories: Old Style and Modern. Old Style serif fonts, also known as Venetian, have a more traditional and classic appearance with lower contrast between thick and thin strokes. Modern serif fonts, also known as Didone, have a more modern and geometric appearance with high contrast between thick and thin strokes.

It's all in the name, light and delicate. Aire is another beautiful serif font that is elegant and playful, yet has a formal feel to it. Aire also comes in a variety of different weights making it a very versatile font that looks beautiful in editorial design and packaging.

Carola is another personal favourite. Its big circles and elongated lines hint at an old world Gatsby vibe, yet it's modern and playful. Play with the different sizing of the letters in this font and it would be perfect for poster designs, editorial and packaging.
